What the world needs now is – a Yoga Rave! Based on the principle that yoga for stress relief beats drugs or alcohol, Yoga Rave is coming – hopefully to a city near you!
Drugs and alcohol are temporary solutions to an ongoing problem – stress. They provide an escape but don’t help you learn to cope, as yoga does. Enter the Yoga Rave.
“Teenagers and young adults today are stressed out and looking for ways to let go. Often, they use drugs and alcohol to release the stress but eventually these substances leave them more disconnected and depleted of energy,” says Elan Gepner, US Yoga Rave Director.
Yoga for Stress Relief Beats Drugs or Alcohol: Yoga Rave!
Yoga has taken root here in the US and it is undeniable that yoga has the power to change peoples lives. With stress being one of the main reasons so many people have health problems (it is actually THE reason if you take into account that people are driven to smoke, drink alcohol, and take drugs because of stress), yoga studios are now popping up all over like Starbucks because the the truth is, yoga works.
Nightclubs and raves are generally havens for smoking, drinking, drugs, and all forms of debauchery. However, an organization by the name of the Art Of Living is on a mission to show the world that you can dance all night, have a good time, be with friends, and yes…be sober. When yoga and meditation are done correctly (especially with groups of people) the amount of energy it can infuse into the room is actually much higher then any drug out there.
I love this idea! Here’s more from the press release:
As teenagers and adults look for ways to enjoy and have fun, Yoga Rave offers an alternative – an alcohol, drug and smoke free entertainment where hundreds of party goers and yogis can experience a unique blend of chants, beats, yoga, meditation and dancing. This four-hour event will take the attendees on a journey of relaxation from movement and meditation to an all out celebration. The hi-decibel performance will be led by Nicolás Pucci and Rodrigo Bustos featuring their popular music from the So What Project!
